  • Listening to: bad American Idol auditions
  • Reading: Soon I Will Be Invincible (Austin Grossman)
  • Watching: bad American Idol auditions
  • Playing: less than I should.
  • Eating: assorted nuts
School work has been stifling, time isn't on my side & I appreciate any opportunity to distract myself from my never-ending assignments & to perfect the art of procrastination, so here it is.

1. Put your iTunes on shuffle.
2. For each question, skip to the next track for your answer. You must use the title of that song as your answer, no matter how silly it sounds.
3. Tag three people.

1. If someone were to say, "Is this o.k.?", what would you say?

Undiscovered (James Morrison)

2. How would you describe yourself?
Fly Away (Corrinne May)

3. What do you like in a guy / girl?
Name (Goo Goo Dolls). Good to know I'm so shallow. Heh.

4. How are you feeling today?
Psyche (Nouvelle Vague). Hmm. Not really.

5. What is your life's purpose?
In The Highways (Sarah, Hannah & Leah Peasall). Well, I sure hope not.

6. What is your motto?
Yours To Hold (Skillet)

7. What do your friends think of you?
Sacrifice (Elton John). That doesn't sound too good...

8. What do your parents think of you?
Gonna Breakthrough (Mary J. Blige feat. Brook)

9. What do you often think about?
Lemon (U2). Actually, no.

10. What is 2 + 2?
Tears Of Rage (Bob Dylan & The Band)

11. What do you think of your best friend?
If That's What It Takes (Bon Jovi)

12. What do you think of the person you like?
Mr. Man (Alicia Keys with Jimmy Cozier). Hahaha.

13. What is your life story?
She Just Wept (Starsailor). Damn, that's depressing.

14. What do you want to be when you grow up?
Broken Toy (Keane). Oh, I'm sure. Hahaha.

15. What comes to mind when you see the person you like?
Show You Love (Jars Of Clay). Obvious, much?

16. What will you dance to at your wedding?
When It All Goes Wrong Again (Everclear). Oh, dear...the album this song is on is loosely based on Art Alexakis' second divorce. Not good, people. Not good.

17. What will they play at your funeral?
Wonderwall (Oasis). Awesome! This song is on my playlist of songs to die to, so I'm glad (I'm weird, I know).

18. What do you think of your friends?
All American Girl (Train)

19. What will you post this as?
So Sing (Parachute Band)

20. Where will you get married?
You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go (Bob Dylan). Why are all my answers to the marriage- / wedding-related questions so sad?

21. What is your best friend's theme song?
Twilight (David Gray). Lovely song, though my best friend isn't a David Gray fan.

22. What was high school like?
Just Like Heaven (The Cure). This couldn't be further from the truth.

23. What is the best thing about you?
Marching Bands Of Manhattan (Death Cab For Cutie)

24. How is today going to be?
I'm Seeing Someone (Rolfe Kent). Utter tosh.

25. What is in store for this weekend?
Running To Stand Still (U2). The weekend is, in fact, almost over for me.

26. What song describes your parents?
Typical (Mute Math). Hahahahaha.

27. How is your life going?
Hey Now! (Oasis)

28. How does the world see you?
Who Am I (Casting Crowns). Exactly. Heh.

29. What do your friends really think of you?
Jane Doe (Mr. Big). O-kaaay...

30. Do people secretly lust after you?
Run Home (Priestess). I suppose I have a stalker or two, then. *shudders*

31. How can you make yourself happy?
Inside The Fire (Disturbed). Hell, no!

32. What should you do with your life?
Sgt. Major (Jet). Heh?

33. Will you ever have children?
Sure About It (Hanson). No freaking way. And yes, I listen to Hanson. So there.

34. What is some good advice?
A Whole New World (Brad Kane & Lea Salonga). Hmm.

35. What is your current theme song?
Bleed (Anna Nalick). Ouch.

36. What does everyone else think about your current life?
Silence Is Easy (Starsailor). Hmm...

37. What type of men / women do you like?
Don't Stop Me Now (Queen). Hahaha! I just heard a mangled version of this song on an American Idol rerun.

38. Will you get married?
Stare At The Sun (Mute Math)

39. What should you do with your love life?
Marian (Nouvelle Vague)

40. Where will you live?
11 O'Clock Tick Tock (live from Boston) (U2).

41. What will your dying words be?
Bigger Stronger (Coldplay).

42. When you meet a guy / girl for the first time, what do you say?
Day Will Come (Shihad). For some reason, that sounds like a threat...

43. When your parents are angry, what do you say?
Crosstown Woman (Black Stone Cherry).

Most of these answers made no sense at all.

DISTRACTION

  • Mood: Not Impressed
  • Listening to: (playlist) Songs To Die To
  • Reading: my articles. Over & over & over again.
  • Watching: Karl Lagerfeld Spring / Summer 2008 show
  • Playing: with strange fantasies in my head.
  • Eating: nada. Diet, baby.
  • Drinking: nothing. I'd like some Johnnie, though.
Got this off RockstarVanity's journal. I haven't been here in ages, mostly because of work (don't even get me started) & I'm in a particularly shitty mood (long story), so this is a welcome - albeit temporary - distraction. Thanks, RockstarVanity. :) And yeah, I'm indecisive too, so I'm using song titles from both a musician (David Gray) and a band (U2). Also, some answers contain more than one song. Have fun, kids.

1. Are you male or female?
David Gray:
Caroline
U2: Grace

2. Describe yourself.
David Gray:
My Oh My
U2: Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of

3. How / what do people feel when they're around you?
David Gray:
Real Love
U2: Desire

4. How would you describe your previous relationship?
David Gray:
Say Hello Wave Goodbye
U2: Walk On

5. Describe your current relationship.
David Gray:
We're Not Right
U2: I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For

6. Where do you want to be now?
David Gray:
Last Boat To America / The Other Side
U2: New York / Where The Streets Have No Name

7. How do you feel about love?
David Gray:
Dead In The Water
U2: Bad

8. What's your life like?
David Gray:
Tidal Wave
U2: Mysterious Ways

9. What would you ask for if you had only one wish?
David Gray:
Freedom / Real Love / Silver Lining
U2: Fast Cars / Grace / Silver & Gold

10. Say something wise.
David Gray:
Hold On
U2: Wake Up Dead Man

SIGH.

  • Listening to: Disintegration (The Cure)
  • Playing: nice to people I actually detest.
  • Eating: nothing. I've eaten too much already.
  • Drinking: Baron's Strong Brew
It's a Saturday morning & here I am, updating my dA journal instead of rushing to work.

Saturdays like this have become a rare & precious commodity, since the captain of the corporate slave ship I work on has decreed that every slave is entitled to a maximum of two Saturdays off per month (I could spend the next five to seven minutes elaborating on the absurdity of such a rule but I shan't waste time - mine or that of anyone who may be reading this).

I'm heading back to bed real soon, since I promised myself I'd sleep in today. After all, I hardly have that opportunity, these days.

But while I'm updating, I'll throw in something quite random & seemingly irrelevant: The Cure has made some of the most delightfully depressing music I've ever heard.

Also, something else: happy 48th, Bono! <3

So, back to sleep now.

Stay safe, everyone.

I'll be catching my much-needed forty winks & missing some people more than I can bear to mention.

God bless.

ARGH.

I am quite certain that my life has been, for the most part, an exercise in irony.

There are countless examples I could cite to prove this point but let's not delve into the past. Instead, let's just talk about the present.

Nothing - I repeat: nothing - is going as planned (& trust me - I planned well. Very well). I officially begin my senior year internship in less than five hours & already, due to unforeseen circumstances, things are going awry:

1. Ouch, Part I My gorgeous new Diesel flats, which I bought specially for wearing to the office, have given me some pretty amazing blisters, meaning that I can't wear the outfit I'd originally planned to. If that doesn't sound too bad to you, I've got two words for you: it sucks.

2. Ouch, Part II The aforementioned dilemma is being compounded by the absence of any office - & blister-friendly footwear from my closet. That old cliché that women can never have enough shoes? You'd better believe it.

3. Hair Affairs, Part I My hair still isn't long enough to be tied (why the hell it's taking so damned long to grow, I have no idea), which basically means it's messy & gross. And before you try & convince me otherwise, no - I do not care if no one else thinks so. Besides, why isn't my hair naturally straight? I'm Chinese, dammit. I shouldn't have to spend an indecent amount of time ironing my hair straight every bloody day.

4. Hair Affairs, Part II My eyebrows are in dire need of a good threading which, because of some people's utter incompetence, I haven't had the time for. It's a grievous crime for any female to be walking around with eyebrows only Yeti could appreciate. Ugh.

5. Yuck I feel horrendously fat & ugly, no thanks to the very unwelcome blemishes on my face, the disgusting love handles around my waist & the multiple mosquito bites I got from standing around some bug-infested area, waiting for idiots to finish doing nothing in particular.

6. Rest, My Ass It's four in the morning, I can't get to sleep & I'm supposed to be up by five. Guess that means I'll be running on less than an hour's sleep & some strong black coffee - on my first day of work, no less. Wonderful.

7. I give up.

BORED. SO BORED.

I'm done with my Film Theory exam - hardly studied, watched only two of the gazillion films I was supposed to watch & am running on approximately four hours of sleep & exactly one cup of espresso...& gosh, I feel great! O.k., not entirely but that's not because of the lack of sleep or whatnot. Exam was pretty easy, so one down, two to go.

Anyhow, I'm in the school's Mac Lab now, bored half to death. So, I decided to do this. Enjoy & do it as well, if you wish.
